The Big-D Idaho Falls office began, in earnest, in 2013 when a project construction team with ties to Eastern Idaho was relocated to Rexburg, Idaho to manage the construction of the Central Energy Facility project at BYU-Idaho. Company leadership then discovered there were other employees from Eastern Idaho eager to pursue more work locally. In turn, Big-D encouraged their eagerness and desire to establish a presence throughout Eastern Idaho. That presence continued to grow until Big-D officially opened a regional office in Idaho Falls in 2018.
Big-D Idaho Falls is proud to offers clients the ability to work directly with a local contractor who can devote a higher level of attention to projects, typical of a smaller contractor, but who is also backed by the significant resources of a much larger firm. With Big-D Idaho Falls you receive the best of both worlds – the dedication of an earnest small contractor and the resources, professionalism, and experience of a much larger organization.
While the roots of Big-D Construction are ever-expanding, our Idaho Falls office takes a community-centered approach to our work. The Big-D Lindon office opened in 2005 with the focus to increase Big-D’s presence in Utah County. The Lindon office constructs a wide range of project types annually, with key market sectors being commercial buildings, higher education facilities, multi-family housing, industrial, and mining projects. Big-D Lindon is a fully self-sufficient office, able to offer comprehensive Preconstruction and Construction services, and is staffed with a Preconstruction Director, a team of estimators, and a variety of market-specific construction team members.
Building and maintaining local client relationships has always been the driving factor for the Lindon office but being local for their employees who appreciate working on projects close to home and minimizing long commutes is equally as important. Just as Big-D Construction seeks to be the most sought-after construction company in the business, the Lindon office has a similar goal of being the number one construction company in Utah County.

Big-D Construction was founded in 1967 in Ogden. It was our original home, first headquarters, and where it all started. The Ogden office is where our company culture and core values were forged and where Big Dee and his founding leaders built a company based on equal respect for customers and employees. The Skaggs Center for Health and Molecular Sciences is a new, four-story cutting-edge university science center that houses the departments of Biology, Nursing, and Physical Science and the Garth and Jerri Frehner Museum of Natural History. It replaced SUU’s outdated Life Science building and was constructed adjacent to the SUU Science Center with a matching exterior façade that ties them together visually. The new building includes classrooms, office space for faculty and advisors, supply areas, expanded and updated laboratories and lab support areas, animal care rooms, a science-specific study lounge, a nursing center that replicates a hospital environment, a museum, and an enormous five-room rooftop greenhouse. The Skaggs Center is LEED Gold® certified with sustainable design elements that include a highly efficient building envelope, low-flow water systems, metal shades to minimize solar impacts, and LED lighting with auto shut-off sensors. Project challenges included construction on an active college campus and a very constrained, tight site.

The WSU Lindquist Hall project (formerly known as the Social Science Building) was a massive 119,323-sf renovation that started with stripping the existing 1970s structure to its reinforced concrete frame and foundation. The scope included construction for architectural program modifications and enhancements, extensive seismic structural upgrades, replacement of the building façade, complete replacement and/or upgrading of mechanical, plumbing, electrical, and fire suppression systems, and a new three-story main entrance lobby. The goal was to retain the classic nature of the original building by keeping the overall footprint and form of the building, but also modernizing the interior so that the building will function better for future generations of students. The completed four-story building houses 34 classrooms, 10 different suites for department offices, with 72 faculty offices and six adjunct office areas, a testing center, student study spaces on each floor, three computer rooms, and a 150-seat lecture hall. Lindquist Hall is a LEED Silver certified building.
